The Physical Therapist – Residency Site Coordinator will be responsible for the successful coordination and delivery of the sports and/or orthopedic residency program in a local geography. This is an advanced career path Physical Therapist that partners across functional teams to elevate the practice standards of the local geography.
Residency Specific Responsibilities
• Participate in the recruitment and interviewing of residency candidates.
• Assist in regular reporting to maintain residency credentialing.
• Conduct mentoring and mentor observation and evaluation.
• Facilitate specialty observation with physicians and specialty providers.
• Provide didactic and lab instruction and recruit and schedule other instructors to conduct didactic and lab sessions.
Clinical Responsibilities and Expectations
• Performs evaluations and establishes a goal-based plan of care
• Implements regular objective reassessment points to track progress towards goal achievement and/or adjusts goals based on patients’ recovery trajectory
• Establishes care plans aligned to ATI Best Practice guidelines, to achieve predictable and positive outcomes
• Manages his/her Caseload effectively, across the spectrum of each patient’s plan of care
• Effectively delegates treatment among the clinical care team
• Meets or exceeds established performance expectations, including patient outcomes collection targets, scheduling practices, productivity, caseloads management, and documentation compliance
• Communicates effectively and regularly with referral sources and other relevant stakeholders in a patient’s plan of care (e.g., physician, family members/ caregivers, case manager, attorney, etc)
• Assists with daily clinic operational needs and tasks
Minimum Education
Required:
• Doctorate (DPT) or Clinical BS or MS in physical therapy with five years of clinical experience

• Must have served as instructor in entry level or post professional physical therapist education
• 5+ years’ experience as a licensed PT in an outpatient setting
Preferred:
• Prior service as a residency director (OCS or SCS) or site coordinator role

Licenses and Certifications
Required:
• Must hold board clinical certification (OCS, SCS)
• Licensed physical therapist in the state where they are serving
Preferred:
• FAAOMPT credential for Orthopedic residency sites
• Athletic Trainer for Sports residency sites
