This key leadership role will be responsible for designing and implementing a comprehensive data governance strategy, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations, and developing a robust enterprise data architecture that supports organizational goals. The ideal candidate will be passionate about transforming healthcare through the power of data, improving patient outcomes, and driving efficiencies in healthcare delivery.
Enterprise Data Architecture:
• Develop and maintain the enterprise data architecture strategy, aligning it with organizational goals and industry best practices.
• Evaluate and recommend new technologies, platforms, and tools that enhance the scalability, security, and performance of healthcare systems.
• Ensure alignment between the IT architecture and clinical, financial, and operational needs.
• Develop, document, and maintain enterprise architectural standards, architectural diagrams, and data inventories.
Data Governance Leadership:
• Develop, implement, and oversee the organization's data governance framework, ensuring compliance with HIPAA, HITECH, and other healthcare data regulations.
• Strive for quality, integrity and completeness of data used and delivered to the business leadership and end user population.
• Champion all policies as it relates to the regulation, security, and usage of the data throughout the organization.
Data Strategy & Policy Development:
• Define data standards, policies, and processes that support data quality, data security, completeness, and data integrity across the organization.
• Execute against a roadmap to implement standards and policies to support governance activities and modernization.
• Ensure that data security standards are met such as GDPR, Data Encryption at rest and in transit, audit logging, archival of data and disaster recovery plans are in place
Data Quality & Stewardship:
• Implement data quality standards, data stewardship practices, and oversight processes to ensure that data is accurate, consistent, and trusted throughout the organization.
• Guide the organization in maintaining and creating processes to ensure data quality standards meet KPIs created.
Continuous Improvement:
• Stay current on trends and emerging best practices in data governance and enterprise architecture, particularly within the healthcare sector, to drive innovative approaches to data management.
• Build and maintain roadmaps for process improvement.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
• Collaborate closely with senior leadership, business units, data scientists, analysts, and external partners to ensure alignment of data strategies, best practices, and successful outcomes.
• Communicate work progress, risks, and issues to stakeholders in a clear and timely manner.
• Work closely with Software Development teams to identify data needs and provide guidance and guardrails.
• Work with IT Business Partners to develop roadmaps for applications and digital experiences, through the lens of data governance.
Leadership:
• Lead and mentor a team of technical managers, architects, and engineers, providing guidance, coaching, and support to ensure successful goal achievement.
• Develop career growth plans for team members and foster a collaborative and innovative work environment.
• Provide regular performance feedback and encourage continuous learning and development.
• Partner with the 3rd party delivery vendor to implement best practices and methodologies to improve project outcomes.
• Manage Vendor relationships from engagement through objective completion.
• Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), regularly reporting on progress and areas for improvement.
Minimum Education
Required:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.

Minimum Experience
Required:
• 8-10 years of experience in data governance, data architecture, or a related field, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the healthcare industry.
Preferred:
• Experience building Enterprise Architecture standards and processes.
• Experience documenting end to end solutions and facilitating technical implementation of solutions.
• Experience with enterprise data architecture frameworks, data modeling, data warehousing, and cloud data solutions, including MS SQL, Cosmos DB, Databricks, object storage, etc.
• Familiarity with healthcare data standards such as HL7, ICD10, ICD11, SNOMED, and FHIR.
• Experience with data governance platforms including Purview or Unity Catalog.
• Experience and leadership in design and implementation of data services
• Experience documenting end to end solutions and facilitating technical implementation of solutions.
