Title: Physical Therapist Assistant
Location: Mount Vernon, IL
Status: Flexible Schedule -Days M-F
PTA is responsible for assisting in the treatment of patients at AWS client site under the supervision of a PT (virtual or in-person). Overall treatment of patients will include following a plan of care for patients and ongoing treatment with patients through all phases of physical therapy. PTA will continually utilize professional communication skills and a team approach. Requires ensuring every patient receives a unique experience through a comprehensive, thorough, and customized physical therapy regimen with an emphasis on quality care provided in a friendly and encouraging environment. PTA will also be responsible for day-to-day operations of the on-site PT clinic under the supervision of the Industry Manager.

• Ongoing scheduling of patients to ensure fluid treatment progression.
• With assistance of Physical Therapist, develop and implement Physical Therapy treatment programs based on each patient's particular needs.
• Assist patients with all phases of Physical Therapy treatment and techniques to include:
- exercise instruction (both in-clinic and take-home instruction)
- manual therapy techniques
- modalities
- job specific physical demands and activities of daily living
• Discuss treatment with patients and record patient conditions and responses to treatments in charts after each visit.
• Complete daily patient care notes, progress notes, discharge notes and other required forms as requested by treating physicians or insurance, co-signed by Physical Therapist.
• Provide continuous communication with referring Physicians, Physical Therapists, onsite AWS Advanced Provider and Early Intervention Specialists regarding patient therapy and equipment.
• Communicate with Physical Therapists and AWS Onsite Advanced Provider and Early Interventions Specialists regarding re-evaluation findings to continually modify and update treatment programs
• Operate and apply knowledge of standard physical therapy equipment
• Ensure unit amounts on daily note accurately account for total treatment time and treatment provided, prior to submitting for Physical Therapist approval.
• Ensure all patients are discharged with a positive outcome, maximum PDL level required for their job, or have been proactively referred to the next step to address limitations and /or complaints originally presented.
• Participate in monthly meetings with Industry Manager to review CPM scores and review patient comment surveys.
• Complete AWS Early Intervention Bootcamp and apply injury prevention practices when working with patients, including but not limited to on the floor assessments, job coaching, job task assessments, human movement assessments, Health and Wellness education
Minimum Education

• Associates Degree in Physical Therapist Assistant program

• Prior experience in an industrial setting

Licenses and Certifications
Required:
• Appropriate state licensure, certification or registration (per state requirements), current, and in good standing.
